HIGH FIDELITY
Funniest / Most Memorable Thing That's Happened to Me on Stage
I was performing in SPAMALOT at Musical Theatre West and my track included the Knight Who Says Ni. We’d rented the Broadway package and the articulated stilts were well seasoned. Walking out for my second entrance, the toe cleat on my left stilt failed and I tumbled to the ground. Mortified I tried to stand back up and realized I would not be able to stand again until the stilt was removed. I had to do the entire scene from my knees. First my supporting Ni Knights and then King Arthur (Davis Gaines) and all the other players also knelt, and everyone on stage played the scene from their knees. The most singularly terrifying moment on stage for me flipped in an instant into the most supported moment I have felt on a stage.
