Barbara Carlton Heart

I've been at this musical theatre thing a good long while and still find it the happiest place with the swellest people on earth! Really.

About Barbara Carlton

Back in 1978 and fresh out of high school Barbara was cast as a Nun in a production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC starring Florence Henderson and directed by the brilliant Micheal Kidd. Other favorites include: CHICAGO (Roxie); CAN CAN; SUGAR; SWEET CHARITY (Helene); A CHORUS LINE (Sheila); GYPSY (Mazeppa); 42ND STREET (Annie, Maggie, Dorothy); COMPANY (Amy); ANNIE (Lily); DAMES AT SEA (Mona); SONDHEIM ON SONDHEIM.

Funniest / Most Memorable Thing That's Happened to Me on Stage

Well, I hate to relive it, but... missing my entrance as Vera in MTG's production of MAME with a live mic and expletives coming from me in the wings as I tried to figure out how to enter the scene from the incorrect wing would have to be pretty high on the list. Luckily I was rescued by the fantastically galant and clever MTG member Glenn Rosenblum who left the stage and grabbed me by the hand and allowed me to comically (and shamefully) get across the stage to the proper wing so the show could carry on. I think the audience enjoyed being witness to my mishap but I don't need a repeat of that happy accident!
