Funniest / Most Memorable Thing That's Happened to Me on Stage
Once I was doing a production of ANDROCLES AND THE LION under a Theatre for Young Audiences Equity contract. The audience was filled with adorable but LOUD 8-12 year olds, which was fine since it was an interactive-type production. I was playing the ingenue and wearing a beautiful, long-haired wig -- gorgeous curls and adorned with flowers. In one scene, I had to be running from Androcles the Lion. As I was running, I tripped forward going up a small flight of stairs. My wig flipped forward, landing backwards in my face, exposing my bobby-pinned real hair underneath. Needless to say, the entire audience of children screamed and pointed and laughed, yelling "HER HAIR CAME OFF!!!!!" I could barely get my lines out as I put my hair back on in front of them, almost crying with laughter.
