High School Outreach Director
About Jeffrey Scott
Jeffrey has spent the past 13 years as a musical theatre professional in Los Angeles. He has established himself as a triple threat, singing, dancing, and acting in roles like Bobby Child in CRAZY FOR YOU (San Diego Musical Theatre), Ted Hanover in HOLIDAY INN (Musical Theatre West), Mike in A CHORUS LINE (Moonlight Amphitheatre), and Riff in WEST SIDE STORY (Performance Riverside). As the Emcee in CABARET (Welk Resort) he was nominated by the San Diego Critics Circle for Best Leading Performance in a Musical. His one-man show COMFY was awarded the 2018 Billy Barnes Award for Best Cabaret Performance. As a choreographer, he was nominated for an LA Stage Alliance Ovation Award for his work in DAMES AT SEA (Sierra Madre Playhouse). He’s currently the host of the popular “A Musical Theatre Podcast” on the Broadway Podcast Network, and he’s a member of Actors’ Equity Association.
In 2013, Jeffrey became a member of Musical Theatre Guild, and in 2015, he began efforts to expand their education outreach in connection to their season of one-night-only staged events. By cultivating relationships with educators all around the greater LA area, Jeffrey has visited hundreds of students in their classrooms each year, introducing many to the musical theatre art form for very first time. These visits then become invitations as MTG provides the students with free tickets to attend their productions.

Funniest / Most Memorable Thing That's Happened to Me on Stage
One December I was doing a production of WHITE CHRISTMAS, and the squeaky fly system that brought the scenery in and out was oiled before a performance. The show began, and while everything was now stealthy and silent, it also started to drop tiny droplets of WD-40 all over the stage. As you can imagine, the ensemble of excited tappers rushed on for the first big dance number and all chaos broke loose. I seem to remember a girl in a particularly cumbersome costume fell down and, yes, couldn't get up. The show was stopped, someone ran across the street to CVS to buy dish soap, and the stage was washed. We all now refer to that evening as WHITE CHRISTMAS: ON ICE.
