Mary VanArsdelMary is a multi-award winning Actress and Singer who has performed on stage, in film and television, and multiple national commercials in a career spanning 35 years. Her Broadway touring credits include originating the role of Miss Shingle for The First National Tour of 2014’s Tony Award winning Best Musical, “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder”, beginning in the fall of 2015; and originating the role of The Bird Woman for The First National Tour of “Mary Poppins”. Off-Broadway, she was seen in “Keep The Homefires Burning: The Cast of ‘Rebecca’ at 54 Below”, and “Cole Porter’s Paris”. Regionally, she has performed with ACT Theatre, Pasadena Playhouse, The Hollywood Bowl, Fullerton Civic Light Opera, Theatre Under The Stars in Houston, Ogunquit Playhouse and many others. Seattle audiences still recognize her as the original cast member Jetta in the cult hit “Angry Housewives”. While in Los Angeles, she earned 3 Drama-Logue Awards for outstanding performances, as well as a Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award for Musical Direction, and has received multiple award nominations. She was a member of Pacific Resident Theatre and Theatre West, as well as MTG, for many years, and has many credits with those theatres as well. Her long list of MTG credits are below. She made her feature film debut in the 1993 summer blockbuster, “In The Line of Fire”, and her television debut in a recurring role on “L.A. Law”. Other TV includes “Boardwalk Empire”, “Gilmore Girls”, “Miracles”, “Melrose Place” and many others. She can be heard on several recordings, including her own solo CD, “When At Night I Go To Sleep”, available at In 2014 she was recognized, alongside many others, in New York City by the organization Broadway Salutes, for her many years as a professional Actress. She is a proud member of Actors Equity Association; an eager fundraiser for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids; and a proud Magna Cum Laude graduate of Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. She lives in New York City.
