About Lauren

Hey! My name is Lauren Curet. I’m 5’2 and located in Los Angeles, California.

I am an actress, singer, playwright, and most importantly, a girl from Queens, NYC. Some of my favorite stage credits include: originating the role of Jessica Contreras in A WOMAN NAMED GLORIA (Casa0101), Hermia in A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (Thespihonest Theater Co.), Leonata in MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Art of Acting Studio), Natasha in THREE SISTERS (Art of Acting Studio), Debater in WHAT THE CONSTITUTION MEANS TO ME (Electric Lodge & Theatricum Botanicum), and Die Alte/ Rosa Malek in A BRIGHT ROOM CALLED DAY (Art of Acting Studio). I have also toured in Italy for three summers singing opera where I performed Zerlina in DON GIOVANNI, Annina in LA TRAVIATA, and Suor Bianca in I DIALOGHI DELLE CARMELITANE.

I have a special love for my three-time award winning solo show IS KRISHNA THERE? where I played my college self and Begum Akhtar plus a few other characters. Spoiler alert: I get to combine my opera singing, Bollywood dance skills, and my relationship with my mom into one show.

I hold degrees from The Juilliard School’s Pre-College, Manhattan School of Music, and Stella Adler’s Art of Acting Studio.

Funniest / Most Memorable Thing That's Happened to Me on Stage

I was blessed with the opportunity to play Suor Bianca in I DIALOGHI DELLE CARMELITANE in Italy. For the whole rehearsal process, I was going nuts thinking that I wouldn't be able to pull it off not to mention, I had been recovering from an ACL surgery so kneeling was incredibly challenging for me. Then the day came-- my aha! moment-- I had the opportunity to perform this role about a nun who was executed because she refused to denounce her faith in a convent for an audience of nuns. It was the most uplifting, profound experience that I had ever had on stage. I had always understood the magic of theater but, that was the day that made me realize that I never wanted to do anything else.
