Born and raised in Beverly Hills, California, Jenny started performing at the ripe old age of 4 years old in Long Beach Civic Light Opera’s THE MOST HAPPY FELLA where she shared the stage with her mom and dad – musical theater quickly became her passion. Jenny’s main passion is educating children in musical theater, and she created the acclaimed City of Beverly Hills children’s musical theater program, “A Taste of Broadway,” which is in its 19th year. She has directed over 30 productions involving thousands of students. Jenny is also a private acting coach specializing in high school and college prep. She is forever grateful for the love of her wonderful parents and her incredible trumpet player husband, Chris. Funniest / Most Memorable Thing That's Happened to Me on Stage
This is actually a story I used for my college essay! It happened when I was 6 YEARS OLD!! I was in a production of THE SOUND OF MUSIC - my mom was Maria, my dad was Max, and I was Gretl. ALL of my teachers had come to this one particular performance. It was the second to the last scene when the family is singing "So Long, Farewell" at the Kaltzberg Festival. My big line was "the sun has gone to bed and so must I." I stepped forward, opened my mouth, and started singing a different line. I got confused and just looked at the audience, put my hand to my head and shouted "Oi!!" So this little girl shouts out a Yiddish exclamation in the middle of Nazi Germany. Something I will never forget.
