Susan WatsonSUSAN WATSON delighted Broadway audiences in the hit musical BYE, BYE, BIRDIE as well as CARNIVAL, CELEBRATION, BEN FRANKLIN IN PARIS, A JOYFUL NOISE, and NO, NO, NANETTE. She also appeared in the Richard Rodgers’ production of CAROUSEL at City Center with John Davidson. A native of Tulsa, Susan studied at the Juilliard School. Her first professional job was in Jerome Robbins’ London production of WEST SIDE STORY. Upon returning to the U.S.A. she was cast in a one-act musical seeking backers for an Off-Broadway production called THE FANTASTICKS. She later recreated the role of Luisa on TV’s Hallmark Hall of Fame, starring Bert Lahr and Ricardo Montalban. She has been honored with a Tony nomination for her performance in A JOYFUL NOISE, with a New Jersey Drama Critics Award for Best Actress in a Musical for THE MUSIC MAN, and with the San Diego Starlight Award for MY FAIR LADY. She has appeared at the Hollywood Bowl and with other national symphonies. Regional theatre performances include FUNNY FACE – Buffalo Arena, TINTYPES – South Coast Repertory, INTO THE WOODS – Long Beach CLO, and many roles with the Cal Rep Company. She toured the U.S.A. with her own co-production of A BROADWAY CELEBRATION and has directed THE FANTASTICKS in Alaska, as well as CARNIVAL at the Pasadena Playhouse for the Musical Theatre Guild, of which she is a founding member.
