Michael Kostroff

Michael now lives and works in New York City. Though not currently active with the company, he remains a member. Best known for his work on HBO’s “The Wire,” he’s had recurring and guest starring roles on dozens of TV show, including “Luke Cage,” “The Good Wife,” “Law and Order: SVU,” “Blue Bloods,” “Damages,” “Elementary,” “Louie,” “Madam Secretary,” and so on. A dedicated stage performer, he crisscrossed the country in the original cast of the first national tour of THE PRODUCERS, understudying the lead role of Max Bialystock—a role he’s since played at theatres all over the country—and in LES MISERABLES, as the “Master of the House,” Thenardier. Regionally, he’s played Herbie in GYPSY, Tateh in RAGTIME, Nathan in GUYS AND DOLLS, Cookie in NICE WORK IF YOU CAN GET IT, and Pseudolous, Hysterium, and Marcus Lycus in various productions of A FUNNY THING . . . FORUM. Michael is the author of the book, LETTERS FROM BACKSTAGE, (available at Amazon), and the creator of the popular Audition Psych 101 workshop.
