Damon KirscheDamon’s extensive theatre resume includes starring roles in 42ND STREET (Marsh) – at both the Carpenter Center and MTWichita (both directed by original cast member and assistant to Gower Champion, Jon Engstrom), SHOW BOAT (Ravenal) with the Ft. Worth Symphony Orchestra at Bass Hall, A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC (Magnus) – South Coast Repertory, MY FAIR LADY (Freddy) – La Mirada (Ovation nomination), and over thirty readings with: City Center Encores, 92nd St Y, Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Casa Mañana, LA’s Reprise, Pasadena Playhouse, MTWest’s Reiner Reading Series, as well as sixteen productions with Musical Theatre Guild (member since 2002). Kirsche originated roles in Eric Whitacre’s PARADISE LOST: SHADOWS AND WINGS (Logos) at Carnegie and Walt Disney Concert Halls, ONE FOR MY BABY (Rick) – New 42nd St. Studios, and A PASSING WIND (Pujol) – Philadelphia’s Kimmel Center (Barrymore nomination: Best Lead Actor in a Musical). His recent stage appearances include: THOROUGHLY MODERN MILLIE (Graydon) – Performance Riverside, DEAR WORLD starring Tyne Daley (Prospector) – VPAC, OKLAHOMA! (Hakim) – Cabrillo and MAMMA MIA! (Bill) – MTWichita. For more than a decade, Kirsche and colleague Kayre Morrison have been the lead vocalists with Dean Mora and his myriad orchestras, presenting popular tunes ranging from Ragtime to Nelson Riddle at historic venues throughout Southern California and at the Midsummer Night’s Swing Series at NY’s Lincoln Center. His frequent appearances on the New York and LA concert and cabaret circuits include Bruce Kimmel’s “Kritzerland” series at The Federal, with Brad Ellis of TV’s “Glee” in Fraser Entertainment’s “An Evening of Classic Broadway” and “Up With a Twist” at Rockwell Table & Stage, and at Birdland, the Metropolitan Room, Eighty-Eights, The E-Spot, The Gardenia, The Jazz Bakery, M Bar, Catalina Jazz Club and as featured cabaret artist aboard the Celebrity Equinox. Kirsche can also be heard on the Decca Broadway recording of “The Ziegfeld Follies of 1936,” the DRG recording of “Babes in Arms,” and the Carnegie Hall recording of The Gershwins’ “Tip-Toes.” FILM/TV: “Gods and Generals,” “LA Confidential,” “StarTrek: Voyager” (as the first character of Nuu’bari ethnicity), and the recently-premiered indie film “Pushing Dead” (starring James Roday and Danny Glover and awarded Best Feature at SF’s 40th Annual Frameline Festival).
