This award-winning, L.A.-based theatre company is beginning its 14th season doing one-night, concert staged readings of rarely done musicals. In our premiere podcast episode, we explain how MTG works, and what’s coming up in our 2009-2010 season. Then we take a look at our exciting season opener, Anthony Newley and Leslie Bricusse's Stop the World--I Want to Get Off. We talk with MTG cast members Justin “Squigs” Robertson ("Littlechap"), Heather Hoppus Werner (Ensemble) and Tracy Lore ("Evie"), and with our director, MTG newcomer Douglas Clayton. We play some clips of the original Broadway cast recording with Anthony Newley and Anna Quayle (who won the Tony® Award for her performance), and offer up some surprising stories and trivia about this classic 60's hit. You even get a chance to win our 2008-2009 season poster, with original art created exclusively for MTG by legendary Broadway poster artist David Edward Byrd! Join us!
Hosted by company members Roy Leake Jr. and Michael Kostroff, the MTG podcast is a funny and informative look at the onstage and offstage workings of one of L.A.’s longest-running and most critically acclaimed theatre companies. If you're a musical theatre lover - this is definitely a podcast for you!
