Based on the play, "Street Scene"
Based on the Pulitzer Prize winning play, “Street Scene” is a highly dramatic musical about one day in the life of a New York tenement, where seduction, betrayal and murder all play a part. Weill broke new ground, using an unusual combination of musical styles – some Puccini-esque, others jazz, jitterbug and even gospel. “Street Scene’ has tremendous cast and musical requirements and is, thus, rarely performed. MTG is pleased to present it as a “once in a lifetime” special in-concert event.
