Stephanie J. Block comes to WICKED after a year long Broadway run in the hit musical THE BOY FROM OZ. Her portrayal of Liza Minnelli opposite Hugh Jackman's Tony Award winning performance of Peter Allen landed Stephanie the acceptance and acclaim from audiences and critics alike - no easy feat when playing a living icon. Her involvement with WICKED has been a 4-year experience, starting at the beginning stages of creation back in February of 2000 and continuing through its premiere opening in San Francisco. She is thrilled to move from one Oz to the other. Other regional credits include: FUNNY GIRL, CRAZY FOR YOU (2002 L.A. Ovation Award nominee, Best Actress), OLIVER! (2001 Critics' Award, Best Actress), JAMES JOYCE'S THE DEAD (Ahmanson and Kennedy Center), THE GRASS HARP (Pasadena Playhouse), BELLS ARE RINGING (Reprise!), and I LOVE A PIANO (The Denver Center). She is a proud member of The Los Angeles' Musical Theatre Guild. Her voice can be heard on numerous commercial jingles as the singing voice of Barbie.
