Mark C. Reis - is pleased for the opportunity to become an associate
member of the Music Theatre Guild. Originally from the Pacific
Northwest, Mark earned his BFA in Ballet/Musical Theatre from The
University of Utah, and then moved to New York City to begin his
career as a dancer. Summer Stock, Regional Theatres, European Tours
(42ND STREET choreographed by Jon Engstrom), National Tours (CHICAGO
with Charlotte D'Amboise, Jasmine Guy and Obba Babatunde; FUNNY GIRL
starring Deborah Gibson; and JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR with Ted Kneely
and the late Carl Anderson) and finally Broadway (with a bit of temp
work and catering smattered in between) all seemed to be nice steps
that led him from one memorable experience to another. Theatre by
the Sea (KISS ME KATE with David Engel, GEORGE M! and LA CAGE AUX
FOLLES) North Carolina Theatre (HELLO DOLLY!, GYPSY, and PIRATES of PENZANCE with Terrance Mann) North Shore Music Theatre (OKLAHOMA!)
Pioneer Theatre Company (A CHORUS LINE, MY ONE AND ONLY, ON YOUR TOES
all directed and choreographed by Patti D'Beck) Radio City Music Hall
(THE EASTER SHOW), Goodspeed Opera House (PAINT YOUR WAGON
choreographed by Tony Stevens), Paper Mill Playhouse (RED, HOT, and
COLE choreographed by Andy Blankenbuehler) and finally the Schubert
Theatre on 44th St. in the Broadway Company of FOSSE (with Broadway
legends Ann Reinking, Ben Vereen, Bebe Neuwirth, and your very own
Jane Lanier). All of these experiences were wonderful opportunities,
shows to be a part of, and brought with them a long list of valuable
friendships. In Los Angeles, Mark has worked for Reprise (ON YOUR
TOES directed by Dan Mojica, choreographed by Lee Martino, and
starring Stephanie Powers), Music Theatre West (THE PRODUCERS with
your very own Michael Kostroff and David Engel) and Music Theatre
Guild (KISS OF THE SPIDER WOMAN choreographed by Jane Lanier). Mark
continues to choreograph, teach tap, theatre dance and yoga, has
discovered the art of writing and storytelling, and has become a
licensed massage therapist. He takes extreme pride as a new father to
his and his partner Phil's two and a half year old adoptive son
Bodhi. Life keeps him busy, but Mark is always thankful for the
opportunity to stay connected with his first true love and passion - performing.
