Jennifer Malenke was a Faculty Member (judge) on ABC’s “High
School Musical: Get In the Picture” with Nich Lachey in 2008. She
was in the Tony-winning Broadway revival of “Into the Woods”
starring Vanessa Williams and John McMartin, written and directed by
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim. Most recently, she was Cinderella
in Lucid by Proxy’s “Into the Woods” directed by Calvin
Remsberg and starring Anthony Greay. She has been asked to sing in
concerts with people like Georgia Stitt, Shoshana Bean, and David
Burnham, and was seen in the Broadway-bound “Jawbreakers” concert.
She was featured in the Long Beach Symphony’s “Sondheim and
Bernstein” concert. Jen has been seen on “The Game” and “Cold
Case,” and just completed shooting the film “Take Care,”
directed by Scott Tanner Jones. She originated the role of Barbara in
the world premiere of “Twice Upon a Time,” written and directed by
England’s “Master of Farce,” Ray Cooney, and starring Millicent
Martin at CLOSBC in Redondo Beach. She also originated the role of
the Bride in Michael John LaChiusa’s world premiere of “Hotel
C’est L’amour” at Noah Wyle’s Blank Theatre Company in Los
Angeles, also starring Vicki Lewis. Jen has been seen in many
regional productions: LA: “The Pirates of Penzance” (Mabel)
starring Rex Smith, Musical Theatre West Long Beach; Sondheim’s
“Saturday Night” (Helen), Musical Theatre West. PA: “Into the
Woods” (Cinderella) Fulton Opera House. NY: “Cats” (Jellylorum)
Gateway Playhouse; “Kiss Me, Kate” (Lois Lane) Gateway
Playhouse; “The Woman Upstairs” (Mother) starring Alison Frasier
and Kate Shindle, NYMF. Chicago: “big, the musical” (Abigail/Susan), directed by Gary Griffin, Drury Lane Oakbrook; “Carousel” (Carrie) Drury Lane Oakbrook, plus numerous others at
the Northlight Theatre and the Theatre at the Center. She does
session work in LA, singing in movies such as “Dance Flick” among
others. She recently appeared in “Les Girls,” a breast cancer
awareness concert singing with Wayne Brady, Sam Harris, and Busy
Phillips. She has done World AIDS Day concerts in NYC with people
such as Rosie O’Donnell, Ben Vereen, Eden Espinosa, and Laura
Benanti. She also sings at the Upright Cabaret, Musical Mondays,
88’s Cabaret, and First and Hope in Los Angeles. Jen has done
numerous voiceovers and commercials, and was a member of the Grant
Park Chorus in Chicago. She has taught voice and piano at the Studio
New Canaan in Connecticut, at the MGray Music Academy (run by Macy
Gray) in LA, and at the Burbank Music Academy. She graduated with a
BM in Vocal Performance from Millikin University.
