Born in East LA, (Hey! A song cue!), native born Bolero has finally
made the big time, as an Associate Member of MTG! A graduate of the
American Center for Music Theater, his theatrical credits span from
Broadway to Regional, as well as touring the world, from Bali to
Venice as a Production Singer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines.
On Broadway, Danny was cast as one of Joseph’s eleven brothers in
the 1994 Broadway revival of JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR
DREAMCOAT starring Michael Damian, and later joined the First
National Tour with Sam Harris.
Mr. Bolero, was recently asked to play the role of a lifetime, Cesar
Chavez, in Ed Begley’s CESAR AND RUBEN which won him critical
acclaim as well as the Ivy B. Payne Award from, the circle of Critics
in Austin, TX. Last year Bolero was asked to portray his civil
rights hero once again in the 2008 documentary "Viva la Causa”. A
nominee for Best Documentary by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts
and Sciences.
He has toured with the 60’s revival Doo Wop band, "Cannibal and the
Headhunters" as well as tours of MAN OF LA MANCHA with Mr. Robert
Goulet and QUINCEAÑERA, a published work in which Mr. Bolero is
credited as one of the co-writers. Other credits include, the long-running BARK – Coast Playhouse, THE FANTASTICKS (El Gallo) Arizona
Theater Company, the musical SELENA at the Doolittle Theater, WORLD
GOES ROUND-Rubicon (Robbie Nomination), PACIFIC OVERTURES (Manjiro),
South Coast Rep's LA POSADA MAGICA, South Bay’s TWICE UPON A TIME,
THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD (John Jasper) for which he was awarded the
Inland Empire Award, BEGGARS HOLIDAY with the late, great Carl
Anderson, and Guido in NINE and Che in EVITA, for which he received
Los Angeles Drama-Logue Awards. His television credits include a re-
occurring role in the short lived "The Mullets", "The Ghost
Whisperer", "Young and the Restless", "Beverly Hills 90210", "Ally
McBeal", "Los Alvarez" (pilot), and "Malcolm in the Middle". You can
also catch Mr. Bolero, being gunned down by Sean Bean in the remake
of the 70s classic, "The Hitcher, 2007". Mr. Bolero has recently
completed work on his one-man show entitled SHADOWBOXING, and is just
happy “being.”
